Under the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive, Germany banned plastic cutlery from 3 July 2021. German importers also have their own obligations: anyone placing packaged goods on the German market must register with the LUCID packaging register under the Packaging Act (VerpackG) and join a take-back system for the packaging.
